Flat solid shell Paua abalone (New Zealand abalone) shell pcs. cut to uniform thickness. Supplied in specific size or random - irregular shape for slides and specific diameter for eyes as used in the manufacture of bow frogs for violin, viola, cello, bass. All our blanks are selected from A grade material cut uniformly flat and good throughout. Usable on both sides unless otherwise specified. Available in standard grade as well as rippled and heart material. Selection of stocked sizes as well as cut to specific requirement.
Standard thickness sizes - 1mm, 1.3mm, 1.5mm (0.04", 0.05", 0.06"). Sometimes yielding thicker material - 2mm, (0.079") 2.5mm ((0.1"), Thinner cut pcs are also available by request - 0.5mm, 0.3mm, 0.2mm (0.02", 0.012", 0.008")
